We publish our criteria and our reasoning. If you disagree with an assessment, you will know exactly which factor to argue with.
Everything on this site is drawn from what a firm publishes about itself or from a third-party review platform. Nothing rests on a firm's adjectives about its own quality. If a claim could not be checked, the table says so rather than filling the gap.
The biggest real difference between these firms. A former admissions officer read applications professionally and sat in committee. A near-peer mentor recently got in somewhere. Both models have serious defenders. They are not the same purchase, and a family should know which one it is making.
One person carrying both the admissions strategy and the months of follow-through is a different service from two people splitting those roles. Ask which you are buying and who covers the other half.
Most team sizes in this category are self-reported with no roster behind them. Where a firm publishes a directory you can count, that is worth more than a bigger number you cannot. Where a stated figure exceeds the published directory, we note the gap.
A 4.9 across 624 reviews and a 3.7 across one are not comparable numbers. We print both figures everywhere, and an unclaimed profile with no reviews is reported as no data rather than a low score.
Whether a family can learn the cost before agreeing to a consultation. On this criterion the category performs badly, InGenius Prep included. Four of twenty firms publish real figures.
Whether an accounting firm, rather than a marketing department, has examined the acceptance figures. Two firms claim this. We report what each names and stop short of calling either a completed audit, because neither publishes the engagement scope.
A firm is included if it serves students nationally or internationally rather than a single local market, has been operating for at least five years, and publishes enough about itself for a family to evaluate it. Inclusion is not an endorsement, and the order is not a score: InGenius Prep is listed first because this is our site, and the remaining nineteen are alphabetical.
Two firms that appear on other comparison sites are treated differently here. Quad Education and Inspira Advantage are the same company, both trading names of Inspira Education Group, Inc., operating from one address with one advertised acceptance rate, so they appear once. Deans of Admissions is not included: it publishes no verifiable student volume, and the founding credential circulated about it conflates a graduate school admissions deanship with an undergraduate one.
Figures move. Trustpilot counts change weekly, firms revise their team pages, and prices reset each contract year. Everything here was checked on 27 August 2026 and each page carries that date.
If a figure is wrong or out of date, including one that favors InGenius Prep, write to corrections@bestcollegeadmissionsconsultant.org and we will correct it and re-date the page. We would rather be corrected than be wrong in our own favor.
